What I found works for me: Nicotine replacement therapies are commonly prescribed to help quit smoking, but they aren't the answer. Most of them are simply addictive, and may even cause you harm. I recommend the Natural Products Association's Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) listings for people trying to quit. NRTs contain nicotine, which is addictive, and is typically the same drug that's in cigarettes. You also need to be able to control your dose in order to stop using. You can't just take a pill every day and expect to quit smoking. It may take a while before you quit.

If I'm looking for natural products that help me quit smoking, how do I know which one's the best? NRT is often referred to as "natural." Some people feel natural products are less risky than other products because they don't contain chemicals, and don't have a high risk of adverse health effects. This is generally true.
