Good Habits Generate Good Health
As many of us will agree it is not always possible to have home cooked natural food. We live in the ‘real world’ we travel and often have to eat what is available at any given time. Bill and I of course belong in this group as we travel often. We have had no medicine, no surgery and maintain a very good level of activity. Energy and good sleep will come naturally with great health when we look at how healing starts in the kitchen.
My two sisters travel long-haul with their work. One of them has been doing this work for over 25 years. She eats and cooks delicious macrobiotic food when she is at home. When she is travelling she eats what she can and makes the best choices. She is a perfect example of creating balance by using her diet when she gets home to strengthen and balance out the excess that she has perhaps consumed whilst travelling. She has great energy and enjoys good health and knows that the sickness her colleagues constantly suffer from is due to the fact that they build up an excess of toxicity. The principles of a healthy equilibrium are so important to adapt to for vitality and strength.
For some, it takes a bit of time to adjust to changing their diet but gradually old paradigms melt away and a new, healthier and happier way of thinking develops instead. You will feel clearer, more organized, happier and healthier than you ever could have imagined possible. The macrobiotic way of life never ceases to amaze me. Macrobiotics is a journey with no end. The more you learn the more you realise how much you don’t know.
When we understand how our bodies work through the educational lectures macrobiotics offers us and learn about the energy of foods and how they affect our body, not only in the nutritional sense, but also energetically, it is like an awakening, a huge aaha!!!. By understanding the importance of keeping our biological systems balanced, working properly in the most efficient way, our body can create a regenerating environment instead of a degenerating environment
We always have miso soup sachets and some healthy snacks with us when we travel so when there really is nothing ‘healthy’ on offer, we are never stuck. So to reiterate on my title above…….. It’s all about how ‘Good Habits Generate Good Health’
I adore Philosophy as a whole and my favourite quote from Nietzsche ‘We are always in our own company’ rings so true for me. I desire to be in the company of one who is happy, strong, healthy, energetic and fun to be with so this is who I am. I create this by what I eat on a daily basis, how I move my body and the thoughts I think.
We should thank our bodies each day for our continued good health and not take it for granted. Health is everything, without health everything is nothing!
